Long run emissions of an EV versus an ICE vehicle

This form allows you to compare the lifecycle CO₂ emissions of an EV versus an internal combustion vehicle.

We provide sensible defaults in the form based on normal driving. When you choose a certain grid emissions value, the calculator assumes that the grid continues to decarbonise such that in the final year, the emissions intensity of electricty from every grid is 20 grams per kilowatt-hour (g/kWh).
